They have been around for years and almost every gym in the country has and uses at least one of their machines. Proform treadmills are no exception. You can tell just by looking at them that no corners were cut in their design and production. The good news is that compared to a lot of other treadmills, a proform treadmill is great value for money and make a wise decision for any home gym.

The proform treadmills produce an unsurpassed cardiovascular workout. The treadmill works the large muscles in your body. According to a study done by the Medical College of Wisconsin and the VA Medical Center in Milwaukee, calories burned on the treadmill for 60 minutes averaged 865 - 705 calories. This compares to:

The Pro-form 930i treadmill

This is one of my favorite proform treadmills. It features 0-12 MPH speed control for the beginner to most advanced athlete. 0-10% incline control to simulate hill running giving you the option of a higher calorie workout. 2.0 HP commercial grade motor allows for a strong, smooth workout even for heavier users. It also includes 10 built in workouts to give you a lot of variety.

The best thing about this machine is the special features including grip heart rate sensors, ProTech cushioning for a comfortable reduced impact experience and a Coolaire workout fan to keep you cool during your workout. This treadmill is great value for money and compares to other brands at almost twice the price.

Pro form 720 treadmill

Very similar to the 930i the only difference with the 720 treadmill is with its powerful 2.5 HP motor and fold away design. However it can only reach speeds of 10 MPH and only 8 built in workouts. If you are just trying to get in shape and don’t really want the high speed and variety that the 930i offers then the 720 makes a great choice. The fold away design is also great for people with only a small workout area.

Profrom 730 treadmill

This treadmill is very similar to the 720 model but is not fold away. It has a 300-lb weight capacity, an extra shock absorption system and includes a drink holder. A great machine for a newbie to fitness (and maybe over weight) and wants a strong, durable treadmill. It is also cheaper than the 720 model.

Pro form 995SEL treadmill

As seen on TV this pro form 995sel treadmill is similar to the 730 treadmill but has a more powerful 2.75 HP motor. This profrom treadmill is a great option for those people who need a bit of motivation to exercise as it comes with a FREE ‘8 weeks to a better body’ program. This is a type of personal trainer with 8 motivational workouts on CD to help you start and continue exercising. It even comes with free hand weights for an extra calorie burning workout.

Proform Crosstrainer VX

This is the cheapest of the proform treadmills. Similar to the 730 model however it has a less powerful 1.5 HP motor and only 4 built in workouts. I’d only suggest this one if money is a real problem. If you can save up for one of the better models as they will invariably give you a better workout.
